Resort Style Roundup: Marc Jacobs

It is hard to keep up with all the mini-seasons in fashionland.  Right now, it is all about resort!  Here is a peak at Marc Jacobs' Resort collection.  Some of the looks might remind you of your recent prom or even wall paper from your great aunt's house.  We are not sure why the models look so sad, but enjoy!

Band Movement

Practically the whole universe loves or has grown to love the elastic, colorful, silhouettes that are known as Silly Bandz.  Who would think that stacked rubber bracelets could bring so much joy and happiness to people’s lives?  Honestly, I have never been a huge fan of the silly band movement.  However, on the Fourth of July, I did deck out in wearing American flags, bells, eagles and peace sign bandz.  And occasionally I wear the band that spells out “Wild” in perfectly cohesive letters.  But, at last a designer has caught on to this band wagon (no pun intended) and has created his own signature silly bandz.  Marc Jacobs, being the brilliant business man that he is, has come out with a group of silly bandz that spell out “M-A-R-C” and include an apple….swanky, right?  Now, to fill your band-craze, you can have a more “age-appropriate” silly band collection, while still holding onto your beloved dollar signs and zoo animals that you’re undoubtedly attached to.

Rain Rain...Come Today

Though summer is coming to a end, and autumn is slowly making its way into our lives, I still live for those grey and rainy days.  Not nessecarily because I don't appreciate the blazing sun, moreso because my raingear is highly appreciated, but often overlooked.  Some think that waterproof clothing has to correspond with the weather, expressing drabness--but it doesn't!  Rain showers are the perfect moments to throw on a colorful rain jacket and even grab a matching umbrella if you'd like.  Yes, the jacket is essential, but your boots are also an exciting statement to make.  Personally, I prefer a natural colored, but patent raincoat (nude, black, green, or eggshell), paired with an intensely hued or tastefully printed pair of wellies.  I have a strong admiration for boots, and ranboots are no exception.  Whether stomping the puddles in simple tall and glossy Hunterboots, the classic printed Burberry boots, or the new biker-chic Marc Jacobs pair I recently spotted at Barneys, rainboots give your raincoat the extra umphh!  LITTLEbird's, you will always appear fabulous while singing in the rain, and brightening the dull atmosphere.
